found on the 71

i found this three ring binder while riding the 71 bus with pliska. the front cover is exquisitely illustrated. the pics enlarge when you click on them:

on the back cover, a clue as to the author:

if this alex b??? AKA cartoon chuckie ever gets famous, i'm totally cashing in. and speaking of finding stuff, the good reverend recently launched a "found at school" blog dealing with... stuff found at school. please sausage link to it at your soonest convenience.

mind-melting polaroids

one night last fall, while loitering at my local walgreens, i decided to treat myself to a polaroid camera. i have always wanted one (the shitty little i-zone that i used to have doesn't really count), but the high price of film had long been a deterrent. and now the price of film will likely increase because they're gonna stop making it. shame that, because conventional and digital cameras just do not satisfy like instant film.

for a good time, try zapping a still-developing polaroid in the microwave for a second or two. as seen below, it makes for some genuine strangeness. BE ADVISED: THIS IS A POTENTIAL FIRE/HEALTH HAZARD AND IT COULD RUIN YOUR MICROWAVE. have fun!

part of a sensible barkfast!

i recently came across this product at one of the thrift grocery stores in my neighborhood and nearly had an aneuyrism--so absurd! i deeply regret not buying a box then, because the store in question just went out of business. it turns out that barkfast sqaures is part of a whole line of dog breakfast cereals made by bow wow brands, makers of grrr-nola, the granola bar for dogs. even though the company's website has a 2007 copyright, i have serious doubts about the availability of their products. my nearest qfc does not sell them, despite bow wow brands' claim to the contrary, and i can find no online retailers--not a good sign for a product line that debuted way back in 2005. still, you never know where some stray boxes might be hiding out.

some art work...

a cheer for kelly merrill, who recently started adding to his long dormant dream blog frog hut. no longer will it be JUST a dream blog. it's now a space for his myriad creative output, which anyone who knows kelly will agree he needs. you can sausage link to it up on the right. be sure to check out his etchings (post 1, post 2).

wlog is go

i am now serenely floating in blog-space. no great ideas for a post just yet, but keep watching the skies. in the mean time here are some youtube clips you might like.

first an awkward moment in television commercial/art/sports history:

and a different kind of awkward here:

i wish my cologne made bullet ricochet sounds when i put it on. oh wait, i don't wear cologne! actually, i sometimes dab hamm's beer behind my ears.

this clip is from 1985 and it proves that arrogance will get you everywhere:

and while we're on the subject of music, you must take some time for st. sanders shreds:

plenty more of these on youtube. enjoy!
