if you've ever dug for records at a goodwill, you know that vinyl treasures are few and far between, and that goodwills are apparently where all the mantovani and jim nabors albums go to die. this does not stop me from flipping through every single musty record whenever i go to one. and with most lps priced at 99¢ or $1.99, it's about the only record shopping i can afford to do right now. it's really not so bad though. i stock up on yacht rock and occasionally find something really legit, like a nice copy of nancy & lee or sometimes even... nancy & lee again. often, i'll buy a record simply because of the cover.
i mean how could you not take this one home?
when life gives you anthology of soviet jazz records, you make anthology of soviet jazz recordsade.
i will start a shoegazer band. we will be called "concern" and this will be the cover of our eponymous debut.
predominantly orange?
the font, the shirts, the funny haircuts--it's all happening on this one. and the music ain't half bad either. bonus.
apparently this clown was born on february 24th, the same day as me. there's a lot to take in on this one so take your time.
touch that chest hair?
okay, so this was not a goodwill score. it came from a real record store. nevertheless, this cover is more or less flawless. it also gets extra credit for the crudely hidden logos on the beer cans.

I haven't been on blogs for a while and I come back to this glory. I am off to goodwill because I have a record album frame and nothing hilarious to put in it except a 10th anniversary sesame street album, which is funny but I want to hang it in my office and I don't know if that will make me be taken seriously.
ahem, great entry but where is June's? I need at least a post a month to keep you linked...
